Utica was an ancient city located in North Africa, which served as an ally of Carthage during the Punic Wars. Utica was a major port city and was the first to side with Carthage against Rome in the First Punic War. Utica was also the site of the famous Battle of Utica, where the Romans defeated the Carthaginians. Utica remained an ally of Carthage until the Third Punic War, when it was destroyed by the Romans.
