The Search for Extraterrestrial Intelligence (SETI) is an alien-hunting project that uses radio telescopes to search for signals from extraterrestrial civilizations. The project was founded in 1984 and has been running ever since, with the goal of finding evidence of intelligent life beyond Earth. SETI has been funded by private donations, as well as grants from NASA and other organizations. The project has also received support from celebrities such as Stephen Hawking and Jodie Foster.
