Alfre Woodard is an American actress, producer, political activist, and philanthropist. She has been nominated for four Academy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards, and has won a Primetime Emmy Award. Woodard has appeared in numerous films, television shows, and plays. Her most notable roles include her portrayal of Dr. Roxanne Turner in the NBC medical drama series St. Elsewhere, and as Dr. Olivia Winters on the CBS soap opera The Young and the Restless. Woodard is also known for her work in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, playing Miriam Sharpe in Captain America: Civil War and Mariah Dillard in Luke Cage.
