Lisa Murkowski is the current United States Senator from Alaska. She was appointed to the position in 2002 and has been re-elected twice since then. Her full name is Lisa Ann Murkowski, and she is a member of the Republican Party. Ted Stevens was the longest-serving Republican senator in U.S. history, representing Alaska from 1968 to 2009.
