The African mountain range known as the ATLAS is located in the Maghreb region of North Africa. It stretches from Morocco to Tunisia and is a part of the ATLAS Mountains system, which is the largest mountain range in Africa. The ATLAS Mountains are home to some of the highest peaks in Africa, including Mount Toubkal, which is the highest peak in the range at 4, 167 meters. The ATLAS Mountains are also home to a variety of wildlife, including Barbary macaques, jackals, and hyenas.
