Leslie Uggams is an American actress and singer who has been performing for over six decades. She is best known for her Tony Award-winning performance in the 1968 musical Hallelujah, Baby! and for her role as Olivia Jefferson on the NBC sitcom The Jeffersons. Uggams has also appeared in numerous films, including Skyjacked, Roots, and Deadpool 2. She has released several albums, including Leslie Uggams Sings the Blues and Leslie Uggams Live at Carnegie Hall. Uggams is a recipient of the National Medal of Arts and has been inducted into the American Theater Hall of Fame.
