Rue McClanahan was an American actress best known for her role as Blanche Devereaux in the television sitcom The Golden Girls. She won an Emmy Award for her performance in the show. McClanahan also starred in the television series Maude and Mama's Family. She was nominated for a Tony Award for her performance in the Broadway production of The Women. McClanahan passed away in 2010 at the age of 76.
