Hedy Lamarr was an Austrian-American actress and inventor who rose to fame in the 1930s and 1940s as one of the most glamorous stars of her day. She is best remembered for her roles in films such as Algiers (1938), Boom Town (1940), and Samson and Delilah (1949). In addition to her acting career, Lamarr was also an inventor who developed a frequency-hopping spread spectrum technology which was used during World War II.
