Marla Gibbs is an American actress best known for her role as Florence Johnston in the sitcom The Jeffersons. She played the sassy housekeeper of George and Louise Jefferson from 1975 to 1985. She also starred in the spin-off series Checking In and appeared in 227, a sitcom that ran from 1985 to 1990. Gibbs has also had a successful career in film, appearing in such films as How to Be a Player, Madea's Family Reunion, and The Cookout.
