Greer Garson was an English-American actress who was active in the film industry from the 1930s to the 1960s. She is best known for her role as Mrs. Miniver in the 1942 film of the same name, for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress. Garson also starred in the 1945 romantic comedy The Clock, opposite actor James Craig, and in the 1949 drama Madame Bovary, opposite actor Walter Pidgeon. Garson's other notable films include Random Harvest (1942), Mrs. Parkington (1944), and The Valley of Decision (1945). Garson was married to producer Buddy Kanin from 1942 until their divorce in 1949.
