An actor's need is composed of three parts: CUE, PART, and ROLE. CUE refers to the signal that prompts an actor to begin their performance, such as a director's call or a light CUE. PART is the character or ROLE that the actor plays in the production. ROLE is the set of behaviors and actions that the actor must perform in order to bring the character to life. Together, these three elements form the foundation of an actor's need.
