Actor Sal Mineo was an American actor, singer, and director who rose to fame in the 1950s. He is best known for his Academy Award-nominated role in Rebel Without a Cause and his role in Exodus. His nickname was 'SALLY' and he was often referred to as 'Sals'. He was also a successful singer, releasing several singles and albums throughout his career. He was tragically murdered in 1976 at the age of 37.
