Actor Jerry Orbach was an American actor, singer, and television director. He was best known for his role as Detective Lennie Briscoe on the long-running NBC crime drama Law & Order. He also had a successful career in musical theatre, appearing in productions such as Chicago, 42nd Street, and Promises, Promises. He won a Tony Award for Best Featured Actor in a Musical for his performance in the original Broadway production of Promises, Promises.
