Actor Ely is the stage name of Ron Ely, an American actor, novelist, and television host. He is best known for his role as Tarzan in the 1966 NBC series Tarzan, which ran for three seasons. He also starred in the 1975 film Doc Savage: The Man of Bronze. In addition to his acting career, Ely has written several novels, including Night Shadows and The Kinsman Saga. He also hosted the Miss America pageant from 1980 to 1981.
