Richard Belzer is an American actor and stand-up comedian. He is best known for his role as John Munch on the NBC police drama series Homicide: Life on the Street and Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. Belzer has appeared in numerous films and television shows throughout his career, including The X-Files, Scrubs, and Arrested Development. He is also a frequent guest on late night talk shows, such as The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and Late Night with Conan O'Brien.
