Actor Claude Rains was an English actor who is best known for his roles in the classic films 'The Invisible Man' and 'CASABLANCA'. He was born in London in 1889 and began his career on the stage. He made his film debut in 1925 and went on to appear in over 75 films throughout his career. His most famous roles were as the villainous Professor Moriarty in 'The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes' and as Captain Renault in 'CASABLANCA'. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in 'Mr. Smith Goes to Washington'. He passed away in 1967.
