Erin Brockovich is an American legal clerk and environmental activist who became famous for her involvement in a major lawsuit against the Pacific Gas and Electric Company of California in 1993. She is credited with helping to bring a large settlement to the residents of Hinkley, California, who had been exposed to contaminated drinking water. Her story was made into a movie in 2000, starring Julia Roberts as Brockovich.
