Sir Anthony Caro was an abstract sculptor who was born in 1924 in London, England. He is best known for his large-scale abstract steel sculptures, which he began creating in the 1960s. He was knighted in 1987 for his services to the visual arts. Caro's work has been exhibited in numerous galleries and museums around the world, including the Tate Gallery in London and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
