The character ASS in 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' is a donkey transformed into a man by the mischievous fairy Puck. BOTTOM is a weaver who is also transformed into an ASS by Puck. Oberon is the King of the Fairies and the husband of Titania. He is the one who orders Puck to transform BOTTOM into an ASS. Hermia is a young woman in love with Lysander, but her father wants her to marry Demetrius. She is forced to flee from Athens with Lysander and they become entangled in the magical events of the play.
