Ross Perot was an American businessman and politician who ran for president in the 1992 and 1996 elections. He was a third-party candidate, representing the Reform Party, and was known for his independent views on fiscal policy and government reform. Perot was a successful entrepreneur and founded Electronic Data Systems Corporation (EDS) in 1962. He was also a philanthropist and served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.
