70s Supergroup is a term used to describe a group of popular music artists from the 1970s. Two examples of such groups are ABBA and ASIA. ABBA was a Swedish pop group formed in 1972, consisting of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid Lyngstad. They released a number of hit singles and albums, and are one of the most successful bands of all time. ASIA was an English progressive rock supergroup formed in 1981, consisting of John Wetton, Steve Howe, Carl Palmer, and Geoff Downes. They released their debut album in 1982, which was a commercial success, and they went on to release several more albums throughout the decade.
