The NEREIDS are 50 mythical sea nymphs in Greek mythology. They are the daughters of Nereus, a sea god, and Doris, a sea nymph. They were often depicted as beautiful young women, living in the depths of the sea and accompanying Poseidon, the god of the sea. They were also associated with other gods, such as Apollo and Dionysus, and were believed to be able to grant wishes and provide protection to sailors.
