Tina is a 2019 Broadway biographical musical based on the life of American singer-songwriter Tina Turner. The show follows Turner's rise to fame and her personal and professional struggles. It features many of Turner's most popular songs, including 'What's Love Got to Do with It, ' 'Proud Mary, ' and 'The Best.' The musical opened on November 7, 2019 at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre in New York City. It was written by Katori Hall, Frank Ketelaar, and Kees Prins, and directed by Phyllida Lloyd. The show has received critical acclaim and won several awards, including the 2020 Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical.
