In 1994, Yitzhak Rabin and Shimon Peres were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for their efforts to bring peace to the Middle East. Rabin was an Israeli politician and the fifth Prime Minister of Israel, while Peres was an Israeli statesman who served twice as the Prime Minister of Israel and once as the President of Israel. Together, they worked to create the Oslo Accords, a series of agreements between Israel and the Palestine Liberation Organization that aimed to bring peace to the region.
