The 1990s War Locale was a period of conflict in the Balkans, Bosnia, and Zaire. The Balkans is a region in southeastern Europe that includes countries such as Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Croatia, Greece, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Serbia, and Slovenia. Bosnia is a country located in the western Balkans, bordered by Croatia, Serbia, and Montenegro. Zaire, now known as the Democratic Republic of the Congo, is a country located in Central Africa. All three of these locations were affected by war during the 1990s.
