In 1986, Bobby Rahal won the Indy 500 race. Rahal, an American race car driver, was the first driver to win the Indy 500 in a March chassis. He also became the first driver to win the Indy 500 in a car powered by a turbocharged engine. Rahal's victory was the first of three Indy 500 wins for him, and he was inducted into the Motorsports Hall of Fame of America in 2002.
