Matty ALOU was the 1966 National League batting champion. He was a Dominican-American professional baseball outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1960 to 1974 for six different teams. ALOU won the batting title with a .342 batting average, becoming the first player from the Dominican Republic to win a major league batting title. He was also a three-time All-Star and won two World Series championships with the Oakland Athletics in 1972 and 1973.
