The 1935 Triple Crown Winner was Omaha, a chestnut colt sired by Gallant Fox and foaled in 1932. He was ridden by jockey William 'BUD' Foster and trained by James E. 'Sunny Jim' Fitzsimmons. Omaha won the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes, becoming the sixth horse to win the Triple Crown. The other members of the winning team included Mickey MANTLE, who was the groom, and jockey Eddie Arcaro, who rode the runner-up, Granville. SLEW O' Gold, ridden by Angel Cordero Jr., finished third. SIR Barton was the first horse to win the Triple Crown in 1919.
