The 1914 Battle Line was a defensive line along the Yser River in Belgium during World War I. It was established by Belgian forces to prevent German troops from advancing further into the country. The Yser River was used as a natural barrier, and the Belgian army was able to hold off the German advance for several months. This battle line was eventually broken by the Germans in October of 1914.
