Mariano Rivera is a former professional baseball pitcher who played 19 seasons for the New York Yankees. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest relief pitchers in Major League Baseball history, and was nicknamed 'The Sandman' for his ability to close out games. Rivera holds numerous records, including most career saves and lowest career earned run average. He was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2019.
