The 1836 Siege Site with 'The' is the ALAMO. The ALAMO was a former mission in San Antonio, Texas, that was the site of a pivotal battle in the Texas Revolution. On March 6, 1836, Mexican forces led by General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna launched an assault on the ALAMO, which was defended by a small group of Texan and Tejano volunteers. After a 13-day siege, the defenders were overwhelmed and killed. The ALAMO has since become a symbol of Texan independence and heroism.
