The 1815 Battle Site of WATERLOO was a decisive battle in the Napoleonic Wars, fought between the French Empire and the Seventh Coalition. It took place on June 18th, 1815 near the town of WATERLOO in present-day Belgium. The battle resulted in a victory for the coalition forces, led by the Duke of Wellington, over the French forces, led by Napoleon Bonaparte. This victory marked the end of Napoleon's rule in Europe and the beginning of the Congress of Vienna.
